Several cities have been announcing the suspension of classes earlier this day for Monday, June 11, 2018 class due to the severe rain brought by the Southwest Monsoon also known as Habagat that is further enhanced by the Typhoon Domeng.
According to the latest reports, Typhoon Domeng is now outside the Philippine Area of Responsibility or PAR. However, the public is advised to stay indoors as much as possible and to continue monitoring the weather condition in their areas.
The Philippine Atmospheric Geophysical and Astronomical Services Administration (PAGASA) released a statement that the Southwest Monsoon will continue to bring forth rainy days all over Luzon for the rest of the week until early next week.
The agency also reminded the public to remember the emergency safety guidelines and to be prepared if ever flooding and landslide occurs in their areas due to the non-stop raining and harsh winds.
In accordance with the reports of PAGASA, many Local Government Units (LGUs) have taken the extra measure to secure the people’s safety by suspending classes for tomorrow. As of 9:45 p.m. Below is the list of the updated cities that announced the suspension for Monday.
Metro Manila
Caloocan City – All levels, public and private schools
Las Piñas City – All levels, public and private schools
Malabon City – All levels, public and private schools
Mandaluyong City – All levels, public and private schools
Manila City – All levels, public and private schools
Marikina City – All levels, public and private schools
Muntinlupa City – All levels, public and private schools
Navotas City – All levels, public and private schools
Parañaque City – All levels, public and private schools
Pasay City – All levels, public and private schools
Pateros City – All levels, public and private schools
Quezon City – All levels, public and private schools
Taguig City – pre-school to senior high school, public and private schools
Valenzuela City – All levels, public and private schools
Provinces
Abra – Kindergarten to Senior High School both public and private schools
Bataan – All levels, public and private schools
Olongapo City – All levels, public and private schools

University of the Philippines Diliman – Offices will remain open but staffs who are affected by flooding is excused.
